I just love patchwork!

perhaps it's because to me, it's alot like life...

filled with many different "patches".

There are some that are beautiful!

richly detailed...

some that are bright and cheery!

and even a few that are darker...

some more plain and simple,

yet grounding...making a lovely foundation...

but when they are all "stitched" together

they become a beautiful and unique

work of art / life!

Her big brother, after a long-hard-hot football practice,

helped her bake "purple" sugar cookies- from scratch!

and decorate them...they were delicious!

Her big sister made her a "perfectly purple posie"...

to keep by her bedside and enjoy...

so pretty!

Her mommy embellished her little hoodie...

with a big shabby "purple" ruffle heart on back...

a little "purple" patch with another little heart on front...

and even a "purple" kiss & hug stitched in!

All because she loves "purple"!

While I was in the studio creating

these four fun & funky bangle bracelets...

I began thinking about the seasons...

Summer brings relaxed carefree days...

It's a time of picnics, pool and beach days,

lemonade and long hot afternoons...

Fall arrives with a crispness in the air.

Leaves begin to change, sweaters are brought out and

the harvest season is upon us!

This is a season of gratitude and there is so much

to be thankful for!

Winter is a season of warm fires and snowfalls that soften

the world around us. A season of sparkle and magic

as holidays are celebrated and a new year begins!

Spring comes in blossom by blossom.

Color bursting forth to celebrate this season

of possibility and promise.

The sunlight and fresh air bring clarity and inspiration!

Guess who "hopped" by?...

The other evening while I was busy finishing up this

little pillow I was making...

that was to be placed in one of my many children's chairs...

(I just love child sized furniture!)

Princess #2 began shouting something!

We all ran to see was she was shouting about...

she was pointing out the front door saying,

"Look!!! it's a baby bunny on our porch!"

At first we weren't sure...it was SO small!
as we looked closer...
indeed it was! How precious!


Had he "hopped" by to see if rabbit cottage was finished yet?
(not quite....soon though!)


or perhaps he just thought it a safe place to hide-out...

either way- he is very welcome here!

Princess #2 even prepares him meals daily!

What an exciting evening!

Mommy kisses...

There is a little tradition in our home...

each year I create a little necklace for Princess #1 and Princess #2

to wear on their first day back to school...

a gift for them...

before they leave for school I kiss the back of their necklaces

and tell them that way they will have a "mommy kiss" with them

all day!- so no need to be nervous, scared or sad- my kisses

will last until we see each other after school!

As a mom I often wonder if these little traditions mean as much to

the children as they do to me...

well, after the first day of school last week...

that evening I had an event I was attending...

after all our normal hugs and kisses goodbye, I turned to leave and

Princess #2 came running to the door and said,

"Wait mommy! let me kiss your necklace! that way you will

have my kisses until you get home!"

Oh my! My heart was so full at that moment

and tears came to my eyes and I thought...

yes! they do enjoy all the little traditions we've created together!

and you know what?

that evening was lovely! and I'm quite certain it was because

I had "Princess kisses" with me!
