Good news for girls!!

EVERY girl is a princess, the daughter of a King...

the greatest King who created and rules over everything! 

Isn't that good news?!!

(Psalm 47:2, Psalm 103:19)

 

I decided to create a little something bearing this good news for Princess #1...

 

a little "thoughtful gift"...

 

hung in her room with another simple hoop I created for her...

my prayer is that she will always remember,

on good days and not so good days,

just how very special she is and that God will always love her.

She is God's little princess!

(Psalm 139:13-14)

 

that is also my prayer for ALL girls!

Isn't that just a wonderful thought to treasure in our hearts always?!

We are His little princess'! {no matter our size or age :)!}

"Sunday Night Dessert"

 

A little tradition in our home. (and one of my very favorites!)

All week I we look forward to a special homemade dessert following our Sunday dinner.

 

Often it will be the topic of weekly discussions...

occasionally a vote will even be held...

A delightful (and delicious!) way to start the week...

"Sunday Night Dessert"!

last night's chosen winner:  is our new favorite!! YUM!

Chocolate Chip Pie

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

2 large eggs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup butter (1.5 sticks) softened

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325.

Beat eggs in large mixing bowl on high speed until foamy.

Beat in flour and sugars. Beat in butter. 

Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon into pie shell. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.

Serve warm.

the "Birthday Bouquet"...

created for Princess #1's "thoughtful gift"...

using this tutorial as basic inspiration...

I did make a few changes,

I stitched a tube-like piece of fabric to create finished edges,

 as well as, a more "full" flower...

I added a few pieces of chenille ribbon to the stems too...

and then created another and another and another...

13 flowers in all!

One flower to celebrate each precious year!

I placed them in a french flower bucket,

tied with vintage velvet ric-rac and three pom-poms I made-

all with love,

for our now *teenage* Princess #1!

How is it time only seems to go faster?-

and children become almost 'grown' in the blink of an eye!

Mommy kisses...

There is a little tradition in our home...

each year I create a little necklace for Princess #1 and Princess #2

to wear on their first day back to school...

a gift for them...

before they leave for school I kiss the back of their necklaces

and tell them that way they will have a "mommy kiss" with them

all day!- so no need to be nervous, scared or sad- my kisses

will last until we see each other after school!

As a mom I often wonder if these little traditions mean as much to

the children as they do to me...

well, after the first day of school last week...

that evening I had an event I was attending...

after all our normal hugs and kisses goodbye, I turned to leave and

Princess #2 came running to the door and said,

"Wait mommy! let me kiss your necklace! that way you will

have my kisses until you get home!"

Oh my! My heart was so full at that moment

and tears came to my eyes and I thought...

yes! they do enjoy all the little traditions we've created together!

and you know what?

that evening was lovely! and I'm quite certain it was because

I had "Princess kisses" with me!
