the "Birthday Bouquet"...

created for Princess #1's "thoughtful gift"...
(you can read more about our "thoughtful gift" tradition here and here)

using this tutorial as basic inspiration...
I did make a few changes,
I stitched a tube-like piece of fabric to create finished edges,
as well as, a more "full" flower...

I added a few pieces of chenille ribbon to the stems too...

and then created another and another and another...
13 flowers in all!
One flower to celebrate each precious year!

I placed them in a french flower bucket,
tied with vintage velvet ric-rac and three pom-poms I made-
all with love,
for our now *teenage* Princess #1!

How is it time only seems to go faster?-
and children become almost 'grown' in the blink of an eye!

Have a happy day!
Many Blessings!

  1. I love the idea behind your "thoughtful gifts." With the family getting larger, we no longer exchange names with extended family... this however is a wonderful tradition to start! Thanks for your inspiration!

  2. What a neat idea, love all the fabric! Happy Birthday to your "teenager" !

  3. This is beautiful! You did a great job on it!! Totally perfect for a birthday.

  4. These are beautiful. I love the changes you made yourself. What a wonderful memory to have.

  5. I was actually thinking of you today. It's been so long since you posted and for some reason you were on my mind. Lovely creations as always. Hope the house is coming along. I can't wait to see the after pics:)

  6. Wow these are adorable. Love the color and texture of them all bundled together!

  7. Such a bright and cheery bouquet! Happy 13 to Princess #1. Blessings, Tammy

  8. Hey Jill...Every time I type your name for some reason I type "Jilly" then have to go back and delete the y. Not sure what's up with that...
LOVE the thoughtful gift!! And I received a very thoughtful package from you today!!! Thank you sooo much, that is really special and I cannot wait to get started on the little dolls.
Hope you have a beautiful week!!

  9. So darling, thanks for the the tutorial.
