created by a sweet mom...

sitting in a hospital room with her precious daughter...

truly a keepsake,

a moment in time that will not easily be forgotten...

yet forever cherished...

meet Emilie...

the precious daughter!

Emilie was just recently diagnosed with Leukemia...

see her beautiful smile?

her inside is just as beautiful too!!- exactly one month from when she was diagnosed,

Emilie wrote in her journal:

"Praise the Lord always. He made me in my mom's womb and He made me special

just the way I am. I should praise the Lord always."

What a beautiful example of faith!

You are a "shining star" Emilie!!

Awwww...Wednesday...

the middle of the week...

a perfect time for a little  *pause*  ...

now let's take a deep breath and keep on going...

and I find that a simply delightful reason

to celebrate today-

A little tied-up...

please forgive my absence,

I've been enjoying every-last-precious-moment of the children's summer holiday...

sadly next week they will be returning to school...

but I have been busy creating a few goodies,

(along with some other stuff I'll be sharing soon!)

inspired by a recent visit to Anthropologie...

I fell head-over-heels in love with a necklace created with ribbons and pearls...

*swoon*

so I decided to create my own little version!

-I wire wrapped pearls and added them to a chain

-then cut hand-dyed silk ribbons and tied them between the pearls

-and continued until desired amount of "fluff" and color were achieved!

and now to enjoy!

A stitch in time...

We just returned from our summer holiday...

what a delightful little break!

just thought I would share what I was working on while away...

I traced the children's hands on a piece of raw linen...

and began stitching away...

using three similar shades of embroidery floss for each hand...

and a little velvet heart was a must...

because they are my loves!

and the date I finished...

to forever remember when their precious hands were this size...

"a stitch in time"

truly a treasure!

I can't wait to find the perfect frame now!

Just stepped out...

we packed-up our "perfect happy little summer shoes" last week,

and headed out for a little summer holiday...

we're enjoying lots of special celebrations and sweet times

with our family and friends!

I just popped-in to share *again*(by an overwhelming amount of requests!)

the tutorial for the "perfect happy little shoes for summer" ...

1. begin with a plain pair of flip-flops

2. cut a butterfly shape from your choice of fabric

(I chose two for extra stability)

3. stitch the two fabrics together using embroidery floss

4. cut a slightly larger butterfly shape from another fabric

 and loosely stitch a gather in the center

5. cut a fourth piece of fabric in a strip and stitch down the center and ruffle,

then stitch all pieces together down the center

6. cut a long narrow strip of fabric and tie around the butterfly body,

knotting at the top, trim ends to form "antennas"

7. sew a vintage bead or stone for the butterfly head

8. simply attach the butterflies to the flip-flops using hot glue

(and I added a few stitches using an upholstery needle too)

and now try on your new perfect happy little summer shoes!

and enjoy!
