These little lights of mine...

These little lights of mine...

added a dash of happiness to our tabletop...

what once began as just a plain old glass votive...

got all happied-up in the studio with some...
paint, silver leaf (around the rim), glitter,
& some of my favorite fabrics!


I love them "dancing" along the tabletop...
adding a soft glow to the summer table...


just a little happiness from these "little lights of mine!"

Studio Tour...Part 2

Welcome back to my little home studio...

today is a bit of a sentimental journey...

beginning with my design, drawing and painting desk...

a treasured gift from my beloved grandparents,

it was the very first piece of furniture they purchased as

a married couple more than 70 years ago!

that also helps with storage...

on the top and hidden underneath as well...

my LARGE wall of storage for lots of creative supplies...

and a few fun treasures scattered in...

the sewing corner...

a view of the "happy tree"...

and behind the painting desk, the writing desk...

one of my favorite spots to write...

one must always have fresh flowers...

it makes writing the checks to pay the bills much more fun!

also a nice place for storage too...

and another place to have an inspiration board hanging!

Heart and "Sole"...

I am forever the sentimentalist!

I just can't part with some of the things

that hold so many treasured memories...

some of the children's first shoes are one of those things!

They represent those very first steps in their new life...
even if they were still cradled in my arms...
they were still "stepping out"...
exploring their new world...



Oh, how I cherish those memories...
and how much I love those little feet that filled these shoes...
with all my "heart and soul"!!!

Princess #2 has been given a new responsibility...

setting the table each evening...

in an effort to make her new job a little more fun...

I created this placemat as a guide for her...

who says learning can't be fun- and colorful?!

I even added some vintage lace...

a little something special...

just like her!

now all she has to do is remember where the glass goes!

A garden story...

While walking through my mother's garden...

I was reminded of what true beauty lies in a garden...

and how symbolic it can be...

because of tender care and proper growing conditions...

these flowers are able to blossom and share their beauty!

Their beauty is enhanced from one-another...

differences become unique qualities...

that when blended together,

form a glorious masterpiece!

They are steadfast and strong...

weathering storms, extreme temperatures,

and sometimes disease...

They don't give-up!

They hold-on...

firmly rooted...

lovingly cared for...

waiting to bloom!

What encouragement and strength can be found in the garden...

a sweet reminder to "plant" ourselves in good soil...

lovingly care for each other...

and be patient...

for the reward is great!

Bon-Bons for me!!!

Bon-Bons?

while I should have been doing this...

instead the girls and I sat around making Bon-Bons...

necklaces that is...

much more fun than what I was supposed to be doing...

but after some thought,

I realized I WAS doing what I supposed to do...

for in just the "blink of an eye" these precious little ones will be grown-

and I am quite certain the laundry will still be there!

for now though...

I'm choosing Bon-Bons!
