Rockin' and Rollin'...

So, I have been on a roll lately... "rock-and-roll"...

(I know- cheesy- but, I couldn't resist!)

A bedside story...

This is one of my most treasured spots...

my bedside table...

it's close to me at the beginning and end of each day...

it holds some of my most personal treasures...

and things I use daily...



this has to be one of my favorite!...Princess #2's drawing of our family...

I just love that I have a "rainbow dress"...large cross necklace...amazing eyes?!...Oh-and I'm quite tall!

I am holding the girls hands... the men in our life are there...

WAY in the back ...and we are all smiling!

This "shabby chic" box holds treasure from Princess #1...

What's left of her dear "woobie"- a.k.a. - her blanket she had since birth!

The little heart dish holds some shells the Prince collected and gave me...

of course, I HAD to have some flowers ... a violet...

This is my stack of books that I start and end my day with... the top two I read in the morning...

the bottom three are journals...

one for each child, I keep funny things they say and do...costumes they wore...activities they did...special conversations we have...ect.

I LOVE looking back at these...and the children love to read them too...

A little blue...

This is THE smallest room in our home...

the half bath...

because it's SO small, we decided to "dress her up" a bit...

Step 1:

decorative paint treatment on the ceiling (tobacco glaze)...

mix in- dramatic "rich" wallpaper...that I REALLY love!

Step 2:

paint and glaze cabinets (blue base coat with tobacco glaze)

and add in fresh new knobs...

I just LOVE painted cabinets!!!! - instant "perk-up"!

isn't the blue a fun surprise??


Step 3:
hang pretty mirror...
update light fixture...



Step 4:
hang painting...


Step 5:
dress up the counter top...
special soap...
pretty towell...
fresh flowers...

Bananas with icing???

Don't laugh!

This is an old family favorite my mom served us growing up...

it's REALLY yummy! (promise)

1. bananas cut down the center- (so you have a flat side)

2. spread a thin layer of mayonnaise -a.k.a. "Icing"

according to Princess #2- she LOVES this salad!

always asks to have "bananas with icing"!

3. sprinkle with cinnamon

There was a birthday in the house yesterday...

complete with lot's of special gifts...(ALL wrapped by Princess #1)

and handmade cards... (from Princess #2)

The table was set...(REALLY should have ironed those placemats!-darn!)

and the cake was baked...

then the celebration began!

Happy Birthday to the "King of our castle"!

The "Happy Tree"...

The "Happy Tree" sits just inside the door in my studio- it's filled with lots of handmade treasures- most from talented etsy artists-

I just love looking at this tree, it's such wonderful inspiration!- I can see it from every work area in my studio!

My studio "pet" - I call her "Blue"- (original I know!)


The best cake I ever made (calorie free- lasts forever!), the beach ornament -it even has a tiny shell on top, a pretty little house, and this sweet hanging pillow has 5 birdies nestled in a tree- one for each person in our family.
