Don't forget!

just a simple ring I created...
as a pretty little "reminder ring"-
a bit like the classic ribbon tied around the finger to help one remember something!
(or in my case,  remember LOTS of somethings!)

I chose large white vintage buttons from my collection,
and lovely dyed silk ribbon from one of my favorite ribbon sources!-

tied the ribbons in a sweet bow on top
and sealed the ribbon edges with Fray Check...

then simply glued the buttons to a ring base-

and now I'm hoping to remember things just a bit better!-
(if only I don't forget to put on the ring!)

and don't you forget- to have a wonderful weekend!
many blessings!
Jill
p.s. good grief!- I am NOT 110 years old!- even though my hand sure looks it!
evidently I need to "remember" to use my hand lotion a little more often! *smile!*

"ear candy"

simply delightful to create!
with just a few gathered treasures...

vintage (and new) buttons,
vintage seam binding,
post earring blanks,
and a little glue!

in a matter of minutes lovely earrings are created...

and created...
(it's such fun!)

makes a "sweet" little gift too!

when tucked gently into a handmade (re-purposed) bag...

all made with lots of love!!

A little tied-up...

please forgive my absence,
I've been enjoying every-last-precious-moment of the children's summer holiday...
sadly next week they will be returning to school...

but I have been busy creating a few goodies,
(along with some other stuff I'll be sharing soon!)
inspired by a recent visit to Anthropologie...
I fell head-over-heels in love with a necklace created with ribbons and pearls...
*swoon*
so I decided to create my own little version!
-I wire wrapped pearls and added them to a chain
-then cut hand-dyed silk ribbons and tied them between the pearls
-and continued until desired amount of "fluff" and color were achieved!

and now to enjoy!

Have a happy day!
Many Blessings!

"Going to the chapel"...and another lovely stop too!

is where these pretty gifts are headed...
to be a part of a very special wedding tomorrow!

this week has been filled with champagne pearls, swarovski crystals,
lovely raw silks and ribbons too!

as each project was completed they were hung to enjoy...
a *sparkly* pretty little assembly line...

8 bridesmaids...

2 junior bridesmaids...

the colors chosen are so pretty!- a bit tropical in feel...
raw silks flowers created with pearl centers...

a clip attached to the back, so the flowers can be worn in the hair...

but also so they can be attached to each sweet girl's gift...

and 2 little flower girls...
each with their pretty posie headband to wear...

also wrapped to give and headed to the chapel too!

What a fun (busy) week of creating it's been!
Looking forward to tomorrow, it's going to be a magical day!

Two precious lives joining together...
with friends and family surrounding them in love!

and speaking of love...

isn't this the most adorable tray of goodies?!!

You can find it, along with many other delightful things- including
my original "bon-bon necklace" design
in "pocket full of posies" reader Brenda's new shop!
stop by and say "hello"...you'll just love all her creations!

{family} bracelets...

similar to a friendship bracelet...
a family bracelet
because,
"families are forever!" (and extra special too!)

to create ours,
we each chose three different fabrics,
then simply tore them into strips and braided them...

for the ends we knotted and shredded them a bit to form
a messy pom-pom...

I like to wear mine with other bracelets too...
a sweet *fun* reminder of my precious family!

"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:12

Hope ya'll have a wonderful holiday weekend!
We're off to celebrate with our family! "See" you Tuesday!
Many Blessings!

"Thoroughly Modern Mommy"

a little "modern mommy" necklace that I created and wanted to share...
I just LOVE mine and thought they might make
a delightful Mother's Day gift!

I chose a large covered button as the base for the silhouette...
I covered mine in a natural linen,
I then copied the children's silhouettes (reducing the size to fit the button),
cut the silhouette and apply to the button top using Mod Podge
(use several coats for a nice strong finish),
I then removed the button loop on the back of the button using pliers
and glued a jewelry bail to the top,
I added vintage lace and seam binding bows to the tops of the bails,
and strung them on a long antique brass chain - adding a few other beads and more vintage lace.

the Prince...

Princess #1...

and Princess #2!

and now they are with me wherever I go!

and at the end of the day in my favorite tray they lay...
my "thoroughly modern mommy" necklace!

Happy Monday!
Many Blessings!

Just what the Dr. ordered!

After a looong few weeks spent caring for very sick little ones...
(which just breaks my heart when all the cuddles and
mommy kisses in the world can't make it all better!)
a nice dose of crafty "medicine" was in order for this momma!

torn strips of fabric- ready and waiting to become shabby chic
little necklaces- using the basics from one of my favorite tutorials...

one down!
four more "doses" to go!

ahhh... feeling better already!
(and the little ones are on the mend too!)

Have a wonderful weekend!
Many Blessings!
